This is a bit of a silly question... but I have just been wondering to myself... IF there is a heaven.. and if we all go to it when we die.... Do we get to see our pets again?
What does everyone think or believe in....
I lost my beautiful cat Saff-Bag about 5 weeks back, and still miss him so much... he had such a giant personality...

I would love it if I got to see him again one day! He has left quite a hole in our home!!!

Well I believe it because I want to - but I REALLY want to see my cats again one day...
Does anyone here know anyone who has died and can tell us!!!! (OK just kidding!)
I mean.. if we all just die and then there is nothing.. it's all a bit pointless isn't it? Where do our spirits go? Where do they come from in the first place... Where do ghosts come from?

Feeling a bit glum today... just miss my Saff Bag lots! :-(
Silly I know!
I just cant see that all them people could fit in heaven. Plus do they all look like they did when they died, I;d rather be young looking in heaven

Thanks Vibrasphere....
I am sure some people will think it silly... but since I dont have children.. my cats are my boys!
I could take just one look at Saff and know what he was thinking... it's daft I know but we really did understand each other... He was a little sh1t bag sometimes... disappearing and not coming home! Then he would appear... completely oblivious to my worries about him!
Funny how we get so attached to animals isn't it!

I don't think there's a doggy heaven - but I hope so cos our old black labrador Bruno died last month and I would like to think has been reunited with his mom, siblings & parter-in-crime Fanny the Wonderdog Mark II (Julian Clary had the first one).

I am not going to lower the tone and comment on Pussy Heaven... but someone's bound to. Not me this time, I shall restrain myself.

Sorry about your cat. I'm not a cat lover, but it is hard when you lose a loved pet. x

Thanks Sallabananas.. and ditto back to you - sorry to hear about Bruno!!! It;s always so hard when they are such a part of your life isn't it! My poor husband was devastated - it was all very unexpected so we hadn't even thought anything was wrong with Saff!

Still - at least we both obviously gave our boys a damn good life while they were here eh!

Here's hoping Bruno is bouncing about with his family and my Saff bag is with his too! Though obviously not in the same heaven cos Bruno might chase Saff! WHoops!
Saff-Bag - what a brilliant name!

ACtually, our old Brunie used to get on quite well with cats. He wouldn't dare chase them - I think he was always a bit scared of them! Woofter... (geddit)?

Keep smiling. ;-)
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thats so lovely dustinmyeye.. I'm actually sat here crying at my desk now!!!
Really beautiful! I love it.....

Sigh...

I've got my fingers down my throat....!
Much as I love my animals I believe that when they die thats it.
I don't believe in heaven for animals or people, and for obvious reasons, won't find out until I am dead whether I was right or wrong. I believe in doing my best for them while they are on this earth, and allowing them to die with dignity rather than prolong their life for my own benefit if they are suffering.
Shame we can't do it for people.

I agree about the whole euthanasia thing for people too. WHy is it we can stop our pets from suffering but not our children or parents!!! Bit bonkers.. but guess its legislation and red tape etc....

i dont believe in heaven as such however, i do believe when we die it is not the end , weather you are human or animal and we are all together again somewhere
To Dustinmyeye yes I am sitting here tears streaming down my cheeks.I was just imagining my golden lab which I still have but is getting on doing that as he knows my every move and I can imagine him knowing that I am coming.I do believe that there is something better for us all .No one has come back to tell us but we will find out.
I like to think of our lovely cat Smudge & other loved ones, snuggled up on a big fluffy cloud 'up there'.

I'd rather think of her/them that way, rather than buried under all that rain & snow! (That's why I want to be cremated when the time comes)!
\about 16 years ago, i bought my ex a King Charles Spaniel, not a Cavalier. He was utterly stunning to look at, although he was an absolute ****** with strangers, even if he was only 1ft tall. What i wasn't prepared for was the unconditional love that he gave to us and the effect on my youngest son to whom he was devouted and he to the dog. I called him Hobitt, way before the movies, and he has left his mark very deeply on my family. Whether he will go to heaven i don't know, but his time on earth was a precious thing.
Nosha123....I dont think it is a silly question at all! I do believe in the heaven that the Bible tells us about, ( and it does say that not every person will go there....) BUT! I wondered the same thing, as my daughter is a veterinary technician here in Kansas, USA, and we love animals so much. So I tried to research this in the Bible. I couldnt find specific verses that say "animals go to heaven" per say, But in Revelations, when Christ comes back to earth to claim those that are His, He comes FROM HEAVEN~~~riding on a WHITE HORSE! That was enough for me! If there are horses there, I'm believing my Twinkie is there, along with Murphy and DeeDee, and Snoop and Jinx......AND Saff-Bag, too!!!! God Bless You, Nosha123! Hope to meet you there!
