hi, i woke up this morning with a dull pain in the left side of my abdomen /hip and the skin there is really sore to touch. i keep getting shooting pains in the same area. i have a weak immune system due to having fibromyalgia which is possibly caused by having guillian barre syndrome 2 years ago which has also left me with some peripheral nerve damage. my parents think this could be the start of shingles oh joy! does anyone know anything abouit shingles and if this could possibly be anything else thankyou x

I think the pain is there for weeks before the shingles appear (blisters) & at this stage I doubt even a doctor could predict that that's what it is.
Having had fibro for many years I've found these types of pain unfortunately occur pretty often. It's not unusual for it to be almost unbearable just to touch an area for days, sometimes weeks, and then it passes....often to another area :o(
Try not to dwell on it & see how you go. If it becomes severe or you have other symptoms see your gp.
Look after yourself.
