There are no variations that affect truth.
do you believe luke implicity without evidence whiffey?
Why is Luke not his own evidence?

Who evidences Josephus, or Caesar - yet I'll bet you believe their writings without question.

Why do you need 'evidence' for Luke? Why do you demand that what he wrote requires independent 'evidence'?

I dont believe any of it whiff, I take it with a pinch of salt, too many contradictions
Give me a few?

Enough to disqualify the whole thing please.

Or are you maybe too scared to accept the implications if it is true?
I would love it if it were true, the reality is that there are millions of people that live their lives based on these stories that cannot be proved.

Im comfortable either way, proving any of it as fact is more difficult than disproving it.
Are you talking about the original version of luke or the one rewritten by the catholic church ?

Are yu saying you can read aramaic whiff?

And could you explain who " we " is when regularly referred to?

There is nothing more certain in Biblical criticism than this proposition. The writer of the "we" sections claims to be a companion of St. Paul. The "we" begins at Acts, xvi, 10, and continues to xvi, 17 (the action is at Philippi). It reappears at xx, 5 (Philippi), and continues to xxi, 18 (Jerusalem). It reappears again at the departure for Rome, xxvii, 1 (Gr. text), and continues to the end of the book.

Take your time whiff

Dead end then. If it were provable, then it would lose all its attraction, nothing is more boring than something proven.

That is the whole point though, it cannot and will not ever be proven. A total waste of time and effort to modern intelligent human beings whose science has belittled the universe (and CERN is delayed until Spring 2009 lol!!)
Awwww, come on Whiffs... {{{{{big hugs}}}}} too ...

Hey are you coming down next weekend as arranged ? Hehe, that'll have 'em shifting on their toes lol..
maybe you like the fact it cannot be proven because you fear that it is untrue and the grim reality is scarier?
Ah, legoland, up you crop.

No, I am saying the gospel of Luke. As written in the koine Greek. I don't believe Luke wrote in Aramaic?

p.s. where did you copy/paste from?

Take your time.

Interest in Aramaic

For the most part, the Old Testament (OT) was originally written in Hebrew. On this, there is little debate. But there are a couple of small sections that were written in Aramaic (Ezra 4:8-6:18, 7:12-26; Daniel chapters 2-7, and one verse in Jeremiah). Aramaic is similar but not identical to Hebrew. By the time of Christ, Jews living in Judea for the most part spoke Aramaic. This is seen in the movie The Passion of the Christ with the entire dialog being in Aramaic (with English subtitles). It is possibly due to this movie that there has been a resurgence of interest in Aramaic.

But long before this, one notable proponent of the idea of an Aramaic original for the New Testament (NT) was George Lamsa. His Lamsa's Bible (published in 1957) was translated from the Syriac ********. Syriac is a dialect of Aramaic. In the introduction to Lasma's Bible are claimed evidences for an Aramaic Original for the NT.

legoland, my god you are a fool. To answer your really deep questions

1) The original version of Luke's gospel - Yes - is there another?

2) Can I read Aramaic - No - but Luke wrote in Koine Greek, so this is a stupid question

3) Which "we" - chapter and verse please - and while you are about it, explain how this "we" affects the account of Jesus.

Take you time, and have another google.
(He is googling and pasting like there is no tomorrow!!)
haha.... Legend has been googling again ! I cannot believe that s/he actually wrote that stuff ^^^^ up there... lol
