Deodorants don't stop sweating - anti-perspirants do this job, but marketing makes us think they are the same product. Anti-perspirants block the pores with very small particles so that the sweat cannot get out. People who are very prone to sweating often find that heavy use of anti-perspirant on their armpits will simply move the sweat to their back. Using some on their back will cause sweat from the forehead and so on, as the body needs to sweat in order to cool down. I don't know what the effect of covering the whole body would be, but I imagine it would be very unhealthy.

If anti-perperent covered the entire body to the said thickness you would die because the skin needs to breath. As in the James Bond film "The Man With The Golden Gun". The girl is laying down on the bed, dead after being sprayed with gold paint; from head to foot.
Supporting what ginbottle said previously, as in a burns victim, with 70 or 80% burns. A similar sort of situation.
antiperspirants contain a fine powder - usually titanium dioxide (due to its unreactivity) which blocks the pores and prevents sweating
Aluminum oxide is also used to clog the pores. If covering the body in paint would cause you to die because the skin needs to "breath", then why doesn't swimming, especially in a skin tight wetsuit kill us?? (urban legend!)
