the milk for my ovaltine boils over in the microwave at 2 mins 20 seconds on some evenings yet on others it boils over in less time, would johnny ball know do you think?

It is totally dependent on the character of the surface on the inside of the vessel in which the drink is being heated.


It is this factor which causes bubbles to appear on a kettle element.

Have you sometimes noticed when removing a drink from microwave a sudden explosion of bubbles.
