I am all in a muddle because I have got an interview for a job which falls on a day I work. (I only work 2 days) My question is do I tell my rather unapproachable manager about the interview or do I try and swap days so she doesn't know. I am really crap at lying but don't know if I want her to think I am looking for other jobs all the time because I am not. Just to confuse things I am trying for a baby aswell and applied for the job weeks ago thinking I had no chance of getting it! What do I do?

Try and rearrange the interview for a non-work day?
Ring in sick??
If there's someone willing to swap with you that would make it simple, but anyway you could ask and say it's for 'personal reasons'.
I would ask if you can have a different date for interview. Just explain that you don't want to leave your work in the lurch (this will look good as they will think you will do the same for them if they employ you), you could also tell them that your employer doesn't know you are thinking of leaving and you don't want to lie to them.
tell her you have an interview and if she doesnt like it then to step outside and you'll make her face look like Baghdad.
