Only ever heard good things about Miele...Not sure how much they are though!
whats (allegedly) wrong with it that can't be fixed?

2 options go expensive (bosh, AEG, miele etc) they will last years.

Go cheap as you can and accept that if it goes wrong in 3 years time it's more economical to replace again.

cheers, max, yeah , bet it is a good make, all over 600 quids tho :(((
Well, on an opposite note, I've got a Hoover Hnf 2137 and although the machine is ok, the powder and fabric conditioner drawer get really clogged and gunged up. I thought it was the powder I use, but my mum has the same machine and uses different powder and conditioner and hers does the same. I have to scrape and clean the drawer out every 2 weeks. So I wouldn't recommend one.

my washing machine and tumble dryer are Hitachi. they're about 16 years old and I've never had a problem with them. they don't even look dated.
I think the second option is the best chuck cos if it does conk out after 3 years, it's cost you about a quid a week, if it lasts longer, then that's a bonus.

the engineer said something in the back broken (didnt understand most of words :(((), can be fixed but may take half day to do the job, also need get new parts, so he suggested me to get a new one.
they sell re condition ones too, pretty cheap, but not sure about the quality, think better to get a brand new one. my budget is 300, is that realistic for a decent one?
apparently
ariston go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on ..............
but then zanusi

oh? how about 200 then, logic?? lol im greedy..
I have always had a hotpoint. Not too expensive.
Never had any bother with it at all and it is a few years old now.

Only thing that could take that long and be that expensive would be bearings gone (is it really noisy by any chance?)

these days it is pretty much the best option to go for the cheapest you can find and view it as disposable after the first couple of years.

P.S. If it is bearings it's 25-30 quid for parts and I'd charge about 50 for the work privately, so from a companys point of view you'd be looking at 100-150 for it... cheaper to get another machine.
p.p.s anyone thats just read that and thought whats the computer geek know.. I used to be a domestic appliance engineer :)
Buy a Miele ..i've got a Hotpoint WF860 ..
washes ok .but noisy ..my next one will be
a Miele ..5 year warranty parts and labour ..
My daughter got a Matsui one from Currys and it is fine -less than 200 I think -or about that and boy does she wash clothes for one person !!!
