Utorrent and VLC Media Player

I just downloaded a couple of movies (something I've done many times before) and for some weird reason, the movies are not showing up in my VLC Media Player file. All of the old movies are there, but not the two that I recently downloaded. I can see where they were downloaded in my uTorrent file, but now I can't play them because they don't seem to exist via the VLC player. Any clues why this would happen?

Right click the film in utorrent, then click open containing folder. You should then be able to play the film from there.

Thanks Trish, but unfortunately, your suggestion didn't work. Right-clicking in uTorrent took me to my Windows Media file and that only plays music, not movie downloads.
Try right clicking on the file you have downloaded and select "Open With..."

The next window that opens, select the VLC Media Player.

You're great, Mr Bounty! Trish's suggestion simply left out that extra step which you provided. Using both suggestions together, it worked!

Right click on the title in uTorrent. That will take you to the Open Containing Folder that Trish mentioned. Then you must right click on the movie file again that comes up in the new window, and then you can choose Play with VLC.

Thanks to you both! (I'm curious though...why didn't the downloaded movie save to the VLC Player like it usually does?)
Glad it worked for you, saysun.

Could be a number of reasons for the file not opening - maybe it was a different file type which isnt usually associated with VLC.
If you do what i said again (right click on the file and select "Open With..."), in the window that opens, there should be a box you can tick near the bottom which means that file type will always open with VLC.
Just saves you doing it again in the future.
