I missed a superb programme last week and used catch up on iplayer on my laptop. It was called 'our girl' about a young R.A.M.C. recruit. I was a young male R.A.M.C. recruit in 68, and this film was 'spot on' I downloaded it onto 'windows media player' and tried to burn to dvd disc. no chance. used bitcomet/utorrent and obtained. Plays ok in media player and vlc player. Have tried 'video - dvd convertor' - doesn't work. I want a copy of this to keep and also want to be able to watch on my wide screen T.V. NOT on my laptop. Any advice on how to burn please?
Thank you

I'm not advocating brach of copyright, but I play online videos on tv via the tv-out feature of either the video card of the computer or the ipad. Or if I can't play them via the ipad, I connnect the video sender and use it.

Its better quality playing them via the ipad than it is via the computer.

Perhaps your laptop has a SVHS output that you could feed into the tv.
Ashampoo Burning Studio Free is ok for converting most video formats to DVD which can then be burnt on to a dvd,
Downside is negligible - you get an e-mail every so often plugging their software.

Thanks folks. Persisted with it and managed to do it in the end. downloaded toBitComet/utorrent first and then used my video - dvd convertor. Wasn't doing it at first but got there in the end. Apparently if u download to windows media player you can only keep for 30 days before its wiped off? Don't know about that, but stupid B.B.C. should not be so pedantic. EVERYBODY wants to download and save a GOOD programme at some point.
