Tarmac Drive

I have recently been doing some work on my house which is now finished. After a thorough clean up I have some marks on my tarmac drive, cement, mortar, concrete,etc,. I have scraped them down to nothing and jet sprayed but cannot lift the residue. Has anyone got any ideas as to covering these up? I have seen road workers tarmacing and noticed they use a kind of liquid black tar that they paint on joints etc,. What is this and can I use it to paint over my marks?? All help appreciated.

Here in the US and, I imagine in the UK, any DIY store will have 5 gallon (in US measures) cans of asphalt driveway sealer. It can only be applied when the air temperature is above about 50F, and the surface dry and clean. It's applied with a roller (like a paint roller) and covers very nicely. Actually, the sealer should be applied each two years anyway to extend the life of your drive. Be sure to get an extension handle for the paint roller so you can do the job standing up! Apply extra sealer to the edges of the driveway where water tends to enter the asphalt and create damage... Luck!
The stuff they are using is bitumen sealant to seal the joint on a rip of tarmac, before laying the next rip to it. It would be no good for what you want. To be honest, you are not going to clean the drive to the finish you want, even using brick acid or a concentrated detergent. You will either have to wait for it to weather out (which could take several years) or have it re-laid (which costs lots of dosh). Sorry to be so negative, but there is no easy way round it.
