We are redecorating an old room and have removed the old ceiling paper with little trouble. However the ceiling has been painted with emulsion which is patchy. Is there a product we can buy that will help to remove this instead of my OH having to scrape it off inch by inch? His arm aches!!!

if it just emulsion then why not just paint over it

Because it's patchy & it will show through won't it? We intend to re-paper the ceiling & past experience proves that anything like that shows through.
Hi Chatty if it is only paint thickness edges then lining paper should do the job but a good quality embossed if you like that should also cover any imperfections HTH Tez

Thanks. My OH is a perfectionist so if there isn't anything out there he will just have to scrape away! Cheers!
