CLK stands for Coupe Leicht Kurtz and the literal translation is Coupe/Light/Short.

L = Luxuswagen: Luxury car. The refined version of the standard class. That's why you have CL, GL and SL classes.

c is for c class, e is for e class, a is for a class, s is for s call, b is for b class. is that not right??the model identication??

I don't think C can be for coupe. Most C class Mercs are 4 door saloons. CLSs also have 4 doors, although they are marketed as 4 door coupes - eh ?????
