I see Joey Barton got 6 months inside for assault, it's not so bad for him, at least now he can spend more time with his family.

As an ex-professional footballer maybe he could start up a football team with Vinnie Jones and Danny Dyer and take on the guards?
should have been 6 years. the guy is sc*m.
Instead of putting him in prison which is costing US taxpayers money.

Why not tell him he has to play football for Newcastle but anything he earns in the 6 motnhs he has to give to charity.

That way we dont have to pay for him to be in prison, and a charity benefits from his "wages".
Surely playing for Newcastle would be punishment enough
Newcastle were bonkers to sign him.

He has another court appearance in the near future, when he is accused of assaulting Ousmane Dabo on the training field. There are many witnesses and he seems to have few friends, so a lengthier gaol term looks to be on the cards.
but suprise suprise, Kevin Keegan is going to "stand by him" because the offence took place before he became manager !!!!

WTF

you couldnt make that up really

I think supporting Newcastle is the punishment lampost!
He also assaulted a teenaged boy in Thailand and a trainee whilst at Man City.
He's not a thug, he's just misunderstood.
Answers a knock on the door only to be carried away in a straight jacket.
Interesting that he was charge on the 27th December, and he came to court a week after the season had ended. With good behaviour (don't laugh) he could be out to play in the first game of the new season. So he may not miss a match because of his incarceration.

Coincidence? Or has some judicial manipulation of the system been worked?

What about Gazza - didnt he knock he wife around? yet we have to feel sorry for him. Gazza gets away with it because he's immortalised as a footy legend with THAT goal against Scotland.
