Sent off yet again, is Barton really the type of player Shearer should be relying on to try to get Newcastle out of the mire?

It`ll be interesting to see if he has any loyalty and sticks around next season when Newcastle are playing in The Championship
I was thinking it will be interesting to see if Shearer keeps him at the club ? Assuming he's still manager next year whichever division there in .
I think Joey Barton has finally burned his last bridge. There were people prepared to apologise and accommodate him in their teams because underneath, he is a pretty good player.

However, he always lets himself, his team mates, the fans and the people prepared to give him one last chance, down, because he is incredibly dim.

I can't see him staying at Newcastle after this. I can't see anyone in the top flight wanting him. A move to a club in Scotland could be on the cards.

You were heading for 3 stars until your last sentence caused you to blot your copybook!

Why should Scotland have him? What have they done to deserve such a thuggish lout in football boots?

Hilly:

Sorry, but no stars for you, mate. It's been well documented that Shearer has stated at least several times that he's simply there until the end of the season - then he walks!
Null pointe !!

It's just been announced that Shearer has banned Barton for the remaining few games, notwithstanding the suspension he would have had anyway for his sending off.

You reap what you sow!
Barton is a lowlife scumbag, pure and simple. absolutely no class whatsoever
I am sure some do-gooder, somewhere, will want to give him yet another "last chance".
NEWS FLASH:

A Magpies statement said: "Joey Barton has been suspended from the club until further notice.

Keep up, mate, look at my last post before this one.
Joey Barton is a nasty young thug who happens to be a reasonably talented footballer - in that order.

The idea of fining a player on his salery two weeks' wages shows how laughable the concept of discipline is within the FA.

Barton is incapable of interacting with outher adults without being violent, and he should be sacked by Newcastle, and banned from re-signing for any other league club.

That would send an appropriate message, rather than simply side-lining him until everything dies down.
bobbyperu <<<<<<what he said.
Of course he is a nasty young football thug, look where he comes from?
Sorry paraffin.

How about this then...

The Newcastle United midfielder admitted to a violent conduct charge following a training ground incident with Ousmane Dabo when the players were at Manchester City.

Six of the matches included in the FA's ruling are suspended until the 2009-10 season and will only be activated should he be found guilty of any similar charge of be sent off for violent conduct.

Which would seem to mean that the FA will activate the suspended 6 matches ban on top of his automatic 3 match ban. I don't think he will play in the Premiership again.
This total waste of space should NEVER play professional football again. Any club that takes him on needs their head testing. He has proved time and again that he is a liabilty and no amount of apologies from him mean anything.
