When i have use media player and closed it down it is still running in the background,i have to go into task manager and end it this way,can anyone HELP me or suggest how i can stop this,thanks

when you have media player running as normal, right click on the media player tab on the task bar and click on close. this should then fully close media player until you open it next time

Thanks Chris,i have tried this but it carries on running until i end it in task manager,also i have noticed that adobe is also running,its driving me crazy
Adobe does normally keep a couple of bits running in task manager. for WMP does it make a difference if you select exit from the file menu to shut it rather than just clicking on the x

Hi mark,it still does'nt stop running,i have tried that too,i have to stop it via task manager and its a pain,cheers
do you have itunes by any chance? that can keep media player running

Thanks for your response,i have removed media player 11 and gone back to the older media player,its all running okay now and i may try to install it again at a later date,cheers
