Why is it that no one wears a coat during the whole episode or takes one up to the boardroom reception, but everyone who is fired leaves with a coat on? Has Sir Alan got shares in M&S or something? It has now become a standing joke between me and the wife "Oh look; he/she has got a coat on!".

The thing is they are really nice coats! I'd love to know where Jennifer got hers from..
Its television. The whole thing is staged, probably scripted as well, no genuine mixed group of people could be as thick as this lot.
I read ages ago that everyone is filmed leaving and getting into a taxi. If you look closely, the coat is buttoned to the neck..As they wear different clothes in each show, the coat hides what they were wearing when the original shoot was filmed but the shot is used when they get fired..
Corbyloon is correct - those scenes are filmes before any episodes.
