mum is nearly 90 years old, finding it hard to climb in the bath she bought a shower unit, not electric but mixer taps, the plumber installed the unit, my brother tiled, but the plumber failed to get the shower working, said it needed a pump because the water pressure was low, and it would vcost her an extra 300 to 400, we bought her the pump from screw fix for 100, and asked the plumber to fix it, he said he couldn't say weather he would get it working but wanted another 100 to try, talk about ripping off an old lady, my old man and my nephew are having to fix it for mum, shes so upset by everything, have any abers had trouble like this?

Hi blondy, so sorry to hear about that, he should have known before doing the work what the pressure was like, I am sorry to say I often hear stories about this sort of thing and was always getting calls from people to sort out work cowboys had done, it is this sort of behaviour that gets all of us in the building trade a bad name, tell your mum not to worry about it, I know it is easy to say, she has been unlucky, most of us are very honest and work by word of mouth, hope it gets sorted for you, take care, xx for mum, Ray xx

thanks ray, my hubby said the same, that he should have checked the water pressure, what irks me is that he still wanted paying, from what i've found out he went on one of those crash courses, 3 or 4 weeks long, this sort of thing gives all decent tradesen a bad name.xx
