I wondered, because I never bother. I hang things up to get the creases out or I tumble dry for 5 minutes. My mate irons towels, socks, underwear. Why?

I do all the ironing in our house, I wouldn't let Mrs 4GS anywhere near an iron. I'm very particular about that
i use to do about 15 hours some weeks of ironing ...a lot at work dont do much now thank god ..i never use to mind it but hate it now
4GS -

Is that the forces in you, my hubby is exactly the same??????
I iron my fiance's work shirts and my son's school uniform on a Sunday, the rest of the stuff gets ironed as and when it's needed.I detest ironing!!!
God yeah Andrea
It's got to be 'just so' or there's hell to pay, I see by your FB profile that your hubby was a fellow SNCO so I know where you're coming from
Am I missing something here? I thought it was the law that women had to iron on Sunday afternoons :-(
Hi sandrajo, I gave up doing standing there doing the ironing when my 7 yr old was a toddler. Every morning she would empty ALL the clothes out of her drawers! I got fed up of re-ironing it all and now do it as and when. Although now theres 4 to iron for and shes grown out of that (I hope!) I may have to start doing it again :(

I did stand and iron a small pile of baby clothes a couple of weeks ago. The iron covered the whole of most things lol
My ex- RAF brother is the same as you 4GS,he won't let anyone else iron anything of his and he still polishes his shoes every night. After 17 years in he finds the habit impossible to break.
Oh yes , and the forces mens wardrobes , shirts all hung in a specific way , with sleeves tucked in a certain way to perfection , and I've watched my son iron......amazing !!!
Shirts all facing the same way mamma?
4GS

Only thing is he takes AGES! All of Sunday, bl00dy el, I can do it in a hour!

Maybe thats why I'm banned! Plus I do has about 3 ironing scars from injuries sustained during task (one on my belly - don't ask!!!) ;0)
Of-course john , indeed !

Hi everyone : )

Does anyone ever use a service for their washing and ironing. A friend of a friend gets her washing picked up once a week and gets it laundered and ironed and brought back to the door. It costs her a bit too. I think it's just laziness!
i used to work with a guy who wore the most creased shirts you have ever seen - we actually wondered if he slept in them at times, anyway one year for his birthday the 5 girls in the office all put 10 in each and bought him an ironing service, so for the next 100 shirts he had perfectly laundered and ironed shirts!
