Well discounting extinct animals, it's the blue whale.
Agreed. The blue Whale.
Apologies, just the mood i'm in at the moment, but when you say 'Biggest', did you mean '[Largest', in which case the two answers above are correct, or did you mean tallest, in which case its the Giraffe, because in both cases, the adjective 'big' can be used.
again depends on what criteria. The lions mane jelly fish can grow to over 9ft in diameter and over 150 feet long- longer than a blue whale
Good point burnhal.

Just goes to show, nothing is as simple as it seems.
The blue whale is the largest animal that has EVER existed on Earth.
((So far...!))
Lonnie. If a blue whale stood on it's tail it would be taller than a giraffe.
Well, you started it.
Oh well if we're being pedantic, how do you know that the blue whale is the largest EVER???

There very well could be something that's now extinct that dwarfed it- we just haven't found evidence of it yet ;-)
Bellringer,
The point is, the Blue Whale doesn't stand on its tail, likewise, even though it woulld be a lot smaller, the Giraffe doesn't lie lengthwise.

Its a question of what ERICK84 actually means by Biggest,

Tallest or largest.
Ey up you two- aint going to get to the eye poking stage are you?
Hi BOO,
A bit quick off the mark there, terrific, its just the way my mind works, knowing how many different meanings to certain words there are, when asking or explaining online, its best to explain exactly whats meant, avoids confusion, well, avoids me getting confused anyway.
Aye i know lonnie- but in all fairness, something tells me that ERIK here is one of those "one post never to be seen again" type of postee (that a word?). Aint worth tieing ourselves in knots about.
What if you were able to cross breed a blue whale and a giraffe?

Closes door on way out.....
that'd be ace Natalie, you'd then have a Gale or a Wirraffe!
Nice one natalie
Good Question natalie,
now my imaginations working overtime.
Not sure if the whale would like to stick it's neck out.
A wirraffe.... I like that one Boo.

It has been said that each ant or bee colony live as one creature, each caste having their own task, one not being able to exist without the others. A marching colon of ants can be a long line and...........

Oh dear, I'm off.
