the smallest bird in England?

I can't remember the name of it but I know it's not a wren.

The Goldcrest, plus the much rarer Firecrest are the smallest and both are 9cms.

Not often seen as they are treetop birds but I remember being parked by a bay on Mull three years ago and half a dozen goldcrest were brazenly flitting about in a small beech hedge not four feet from us. Brilliant!
Time to make you jealous - I've got the lovely wee things living in a stand of Scots Pine in one of my fields, not far from the house.....and they're delightful!!!
