Anybody (in the UK at least) remember a cartoon called 'Marine Boy' and a Saturday morning cartoon extravaganza called 'Tomfoolery'? The latter was, I believe, based on the poetry of Edward Lear. I have very fond memories of both programmes and I'm able to recall the theme tune of 'Marine Boy' with ease. Actually, talking of theme tunes, I also remember the theme tunes to Belle and Sebastian, Heidi and Black Beauty... all programmes I used to watch while I was growing up. There is one programme nobody (except my sister) seems to remember about a boy (an alien I think) with completely blue eyes, called 'Sky' or similar. Any info on any of the above would be appreciated (especially if any of them are going to be rebroadcast!)

I remember Marine Boy and his "Oxygum" which allowed him to breathe underwater although I hardly ever watched it. Did he have a girlfriend named Maria or was that someone else? I also remember Tomfoolery being on though I never watched it.

I think his "girlfriend" was a mermaid called Marina.
I remember SKY. I found it quite scarey it was in the mid 70's. I remember a blond boy with midnight blue eyes. He could open doors and things just by looking at them. I have looked around all the kids tv sites from 70's/80's but can find nothing : (
Well I remember Marine Boy very well and I vaguely remember SKY. Here's some info on sky, but sadly no pictures. There is also a mini write up on TV Cream re Sky. The lead actor was Mark Harrison. Quite strangely the producer Leonard White is a friend of mine and he lives a small distance from me. I didn't even know he produced it until I found this page. http://www.eofftv.com/s/sky/sky_main.htm
I remember "Sky" and "Marine Boy" (though the mermaid called Marina was in "Stingray" - Marina/Aqua Marina/What are these strange enchantments that start whenever you're near? - though I guess a similar idea could have been in "Marine Boy" too). MB is generally held to be one of the earliest examples of animated schoolgirl po sorry - anim available in the West. Network Video have "Belle et Sebastien" available to buy: http://80.168.11.200/sites/netvids.nsf/readxml.jsp

Neptina was his mermaid girlfriend, Splasher was the pet Dolphin.  You can see more info & photos if you go to http://www.thechestnut.com/marine.htm
Yes i remember marine boy, i dont remember the theme tune though. I am so pleased that someone finally remembers the boy called sky, i dont know anyone at all that remembers it. i think he had blonde hair and wore white, and i seem to remember him being in a cave or something. I dont remember anything else really but at least now i know its not just something i imagined. thankyou.
I remember Marine Boy. With his oxygen gum, boomerang and neptina was some sort of "mermaid" it was an early Japanese sort of anime. It aried in the 70's here in the U.S. oh yea, I almost forgot his bud, splasher, the dolphin.
