Depending what you have on it you could use DVD's , pen drive etc
If you have a home network you could transfer it that way too

How much data is involved?

I want to wipe it clean but i am NOT I.T. clever i think it's call (in thicko language ) please.
This is the standard prog ... it is free (although it doesn't look like it at first glance!)

either install the windows prog and just erase those important bits

or

to clear everything
read about it
http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/faq.php#erase hd

get it from here

HOWEVER
only kill the whole machine if you have a recovery disk ... or the install and drivers discs
'cause the boot and nuke option does what it says.
