Tesco have a 3 for 2 offer on wine, checked
it out today, didn.t really see much of an offer
last week I bought Calloway Crossing for
3.49 on half price offer, today it was 4.99
on 3 for 2 offer, worked this out as a saving
of 47p is this a bargain? I suppose I
could by a packet of crisps to go with it.

Personally I would always buy a good wine at half price. You have to watch all the supermarkets with 3 for price of 2 offers. They are in the business of making a profit after all. The best wine offer I ever found was in Asda at Christmas. They offered half price, then gave a further free bottle for every six bought. I got six bottles of wine for a little over 10. It was nice too.

You could always use threshers 3 for 2!
We have had the offer on for so long now, and even changed it so that you didnt have to buy all 3 in one go.
I think the prices may be slightly higher then super markets, but you will find that 90% of the wines in the branches are on offer :)
This is good to know and will check it out when I do my weekly shop on friday at Tescos.

wiggal don;t have threshers here but wish we had
as they always seem to have good offers
Threshers are also Wine Rack, Bottoms Up, Drinks Cabin, Hutton's, Victoria Wine, Cellars, Haddows and Firkin.
It takes a keen eye to determine whether a reduction at Tesco is better than a '3 for 2' at any of the above.

Keep watching the Co-op too. Don't know how they work out their pricing, but they often have top quality wines at totally give-away prices.
According to anarticle in yesterdays Telegraph, due to drought & other problems in Oz & a wet summer in Europe there probably won`t be enough popular wines to meet demand soon. The days of the 3.99 bottle & some of the 4.99 ones are apparently numbered.
