Well 10 is already binary.

To make it clear it is best to say 10 (decimal)

The answer given is correct, 1010.

Moving from right to left

The 0 on the far right is the "one" column (so no ones)

The next "1" to the left is in the two column (so a single "2")

The next "0" to the left is in the four column (so no fours)

The final "1" on the left is in the eight column (so a single "8")

So add 2 to 8 and you get 10 (decimal)
