On my visits to morocco, northern iraq, and tajikistan i noticed something weired. the people of these countries are dominantly arabs but you find berbers in morocco who looked very European with some Asian features and also the Kurds of iraq and the tajiks all looked similar to this European-asian characters. any ideas?

sorry very few arabs in tajikistan although they look like kurds/ berbers...!

sabah al kheer!

There are a billion Arabic speakers and not all of them are Arab, I think is the short answer.

Yr q is a bit long. It is, why dont all the people who speak Arabic, look like Arabs? The egyptians dont look on themselves as Arabs, but successors to the Pharaonic people. But the Copts do as well, and they have a better claim.

There were large scale migrations and conquests 632- 900 AD. By 900 Hasan el inmigrante and his merry men had got half way up Spain. But the people in southern spain dont look on themselves as Arab.

I spoke to a Tunisian housewife, and she exclaimed as I wondered if she had just married a Tunisian, we're white! The Tunisians look like Europeans! and she sure did.

SO inconclusion, a lot of the arabic speakers speak arabic but as a result of conquest and cultural assimilation.

The berbers and kurds arent arabs by the way.
