Cam Belt change

When should a cam belt be changed on a P reg 1.4 Zetec-S Ghia X Ford Fiesta? It has done 80k miles.

There's been a rash of these questions lately about different makes and models.  The answer is always the same - ask your local Ford agent and abide by their advice.  It's not worth trying to stretch the time to save money.  If the belt fails you face a BIG bill to rebuild the engine (about �1000 on a friend's Astra).

 

Belt changes are usually recommended after a time (typically 4 years) or a mileage (say 48000 miles), whichever comes first.  At a guess I'd say you will need yours done as soon as possible.
