I'm considering buying a Corsa 1.2 comfort 2001 which has 87k on the clock but has not had it's cam belt changed.
Should I get it changed?
(Also how do I know if it's got a cam belt or a chain?)

Yes, you should change it, they are due every 40k and a good idea at the time is to change the timing belt tensioner pulley/bearing at the same time. If the car has overheating problems get the thermostat changed too as they were a weak point on the Corsa's.
The timing belt is located under a plastic cover at the crankshaft pulley end of the engine.
yes its a timing belt .get it changed about 65.00
