Until we go shopping on Friday we're down to eating whatever's left in the cupboard and freezer this week and Mr Boo has been raising objections to the combinations i've been cobbling together.

Yesterday we had....leftover shepherds pie (from the day before) with carrots and peas, but because there wasn't quite enough pie I made dumplings to "pad it out" so to speak. Today we're on pasta, however I've no garlic bread to go with it, but I do have naan bread, so we're having that instead.

Now my question is- is Mr Boo right, are these combos just plain weird?

I am the same. I have been trying to free up space in the freezer and last night we had, chinese straight to wok noodles with all the half bags of vegetables and stale ones too, with a bit of steak and chicken.
Nice it was too!!!

Thank gawd im not the only one then funnygirl!

Ya see my argument was/is that what else can you put with shepherds pie? Cant add more spuds to it, and I'd no more veggies.

And garlic bread V Naan bread....well its still bread!
Bread is fine, especially nan, to mop up the sauce.
If you are having sauce.
I forget to mention, when we had the noodles, Mr Funny had 2 slices of toast to pad it out!!!!!

hehe, things you do eh?

I did say to Mr Boo that if he didn't like it he was free to make his own tea!
Way to go, I say that all the time!!! lol.
Not odd at all. Personally I can't have shepards pie without peas and pasta.

Have what you like is what I say.
I think it's really good that you use up all your food before buying more. I am really bad at this. I leave things in the cupboard for months and just buy what I want everyday. I suppose living next door to the co-op doesn't help!
Nooooo Mr Boo just hasn't discovered the fun time to be had by playing the game of "eating the contents of the freezer"...... last weekend I had veg stew with yorkshire puddings and some chilli sauce.... I tried to incorporate green beans but they weren't interested in playing the game...
