Oh bless !!! What a shame. She has conned society out of 160,000 minimum by LYING and DECEIVING society. She has apparently cooperated fully with the police, oh more bless.

She is hopefully going inside for a long long time, along with her loving husband.

Greed is killing our planet.

(Apparently it is de rigeur at this point to hope this helps)

Hope this helps.

Probably tearful because she can't sell any more lies for money to a hungry press.
What I can't understand is why he has come forward.

Because he is an ignorant prat, an ignorant GREEDY prat who realises that he has been rumbled and has at last found out the hard way that pictures posted on the internet are available globally. He thought it would be a great idea to con YOU and ME out of money just to prop up a life of luxury and laziness for himself. I hope he gets 10 years.
I can't believe their sons didn't know. Could there be a joint effort by the parents to keep them out of the criminal investigation?
I was also wondering why he gave himself up. Is it possibly because of the photographs (that they seemed to have posed for quite happily!)
I'm just fed up with all the news coverage they're getting
i laugh at them!!! its all a **** up for them aint it?! all went pete tong!!!!!! shes funny too!!

takes the stress and focus away from other sad news.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. x factor not having any talent this year!!! rhydian would have been the worst last year!!!! anyone disagree?
>I was also wondering why he gave himself up.

I read in one paper (not sure how true it is) that when she began transferring hundreds of thousands of pounds from UK banks to Panama banks the bank authorities alerted the police.

The banks are always on the lookout for unusual money movement and perhaps assumed it was money laundering.

Perhaps when the police began to make enquires it all came out.
bodylice, while I can see you are annoyed you need to put it in perspective.

With their crime they got away with perhaps a couple of hundred thousand pounds at the most.

This guy committed VAT fraud and stole 51 MILLION pounds from the UK government.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,,221 9465,00.html

It is felt that VAT fraud costs the country FIVE BILLION pounds a year.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/frontpage/story/0,,1 877248,00.html

This sort of carousel VAT fraud involves importing small items like mobile phone or computer chips and claiming the VAT from the UK government.

The items are then secretly exported again, then RE_IMPORTED, again claiming the VAT back.

The same Items go round and round, hence the name carousel, and VAT is claimed each time.

While this couple deserve all they get, they are small beer compared to some of the massive fraud going on.
And the fraud I mentioned above pales into insignificance compared to EU fraud.

Fraud is so bad in the EU that the auditors have refused to sign off the accounts for the 13th year running.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/709210 2.stm

And the European MEPs just go on year after year in their highly paid jobs, accepting this fraud and doing little about it.

And you think this couple should get 10 years.

If anyone deserves 10 years it is the MEPS who site back and let all that fraud happen. But will they be arrested, of course not.

Compared to the fraud in the EU this couple dealt in nothing but small change.
Have to admit that I'm a little bemused at all the publicity they're getting....armed police at the airport and so forth!! Yes they have been both greedy and stupid, but I personally would still rather sit down to dinner with them than that lying cheating scumbag Conrad Black!!
Yep ~ 10 years for nicking some money and a couple of months in jail for mowing down a 3 year old girl and killing her. Actually you get a bigger jail term for continuing to drive whilst disqualified.

Puts everything into persepective doesn't it?
Six armed policeman at Airport-Meanwhile the Umpteenth Liverpool footballer is Burglarized.
Deceiving society? Keep your hair on, the insurance company perhaps, but not society.
Can't believe the publicity this couple are getting either - but for their lies & pure greed, I do hope they end up on their uppers.

(I did mention that on an earlier thread).
Can't believe the publicity? Of course it's getting publicity - it's a fascinating story. More interesting than most stories in the newspapers. Probably a lot more to come out of it yet.
No it is 'society' Avatar, not the insurance companies. Where do the insurance companies get their money from? - us! The more they pay out the more we pay in premiums.
agree with you Pippa - i know of someone mowed down and killed mother and her son and he got 3 years. out now and having a grand time drinking and drugging it.

10 years too long for the Darwens - do feel sorry for them in a way.
