A School in Manchester has BANNED pupils from exchanging Xmas Cards for Health and Safety reasons(Passing germs, etc).Does this now mean we will have to take our own Cups,Plates and Cutlery to any Restaurant,or take our own glass to the pub,not to mention our own personal shopping trolley to the Supermarket!! The World's gone mad!!!!!!!

You wouldn't be taking journalists at face value by any chance would you?
Yes, the world has gone mad.

People tell lies and people take it at face value - and don't bother to check any facts out before ranting to all their friends about a world gone mad.

Try taking some responsibility for your actions and try checking stories before you post them (this will also serve you well as you won't look stupid).
Where did you get that from Barter? I read the report in a national newspaper, and it's as Jake's link says. Nothing to do with health and safety.
Pssst...Rochdale's not in Manchester. Close, but no cigar

Bit aggresive, oneeyedvic,no need for that!! I can assure you I am far from stupid. I don't sit all-day on a site like this,I have better things to do,probably unlike yourself.
"I have far better things to do"

Yes, like make comments on a website that have no factual basis.

Political Correctness is not ruining this country, it is people like you who are ruining it by spouting off a load of rubbish and claiming it is true.

Yes, I do get aggressive on this kind of post as it is stupid, irrelevant and most of all a complete load of boIIocks.
Correction, Political Correctness IS destroying this country.

Rochdale is part of Greater Manchester just like Richmond is part of Greater London, yet for some reason people don't seem quite so pedantic about London. I live in Trafford, which is fought over between Manchester and Cheshire, either way, it's still part of Greater Manchester, shortened to Manchester by those of us who live here. Stop nit picking!

Incidentally, who cares, they're only bit of paper created for commercial gain, we all throw them out at the earliest opportunity anyway! No one wants them and everyone hates having to write the blessed things!
No whiffey, as proved countless number of times and in this post, it is not Political Correctness destroying this country - just ignorant people thiking that it is

I used to wonder who actually read the Daily Mail/ Express.

Qn: What do you call a group of Daily Mail readers?
Ans: A bunch of fannies.
I could be wrong but, oneeyedvic sounds a nasty piece of work with a chip on his shoulder. His comments to, and about Barter are way out of line. He or She is entitled to their opinion.
Everhelpful - You are correct, I do have a chip on my shoulder: I absolutely loathe people who make up stories and claim them as true.

What view point is Barter entitled to have? A view that says "I just heard a story, changed a lot of relevant facts and then complain that the world has gone mad". Yes, a highly intelligent view point, and just as you are entitled to a view that says the world is flat, you probably shouldn't get annoyed when people laugh at you.

Maybe you could tell me what I said that was out of line or simply not true?

To make it clear, Barter told the following lies:

A School in Manchester actually Rochdale, but close enough has BANNED no they haven't banned then pupils from exchanging Xmas Cards for Health and Safety reasons(Passing germs, etc)nothing to do with Health & safety
I think the idea the school have come up with is great. Not so much because of the fear of hurting kids feelings, but because of the dreadful waste.
