well by train u would need to go to preston and then change to the blackpool train at preston, won;t be too bad, the lverpool to preston train only takes 30 mns or so and the train from preston to blackpool about the same, don;t think bur is any good and by taxi it woule be about 60
is there not a flight from John lennon to Blackpool Airport?
blackpool airport dot????
yes, Blackpool Airport, you come off the M55 and turn left and it's on the left, i have been there a few times
love blackpool but haven:t been for 8 years. didn:t think there was a airport in blackpool, you learn something new everyday lol
if not mistaken blackpool airport on south shore side of blackpool
you would need to get from John lennon to Lime Street station, but the train takes 1hr 20mins and the fare is 13.20. the trains are 2 every hour apparently and you may need to change at Preston
Following Dot's route via central Liverpool (and using the train to get there) involves a 4-stage journey, as follows:
Bus to either Hunts Cross or Liverpool South Parkway
Train to Liverpool Central
Underground train to Liverpool Lime Street
Train to Blackpool North (hourly direct service)

You can also do it in 4 stages, as follows:
Bus to either Hunts Cross or Liverpool South Parkway
Train to Edge Hill
Train to Huyton
Train to Blackpool North

You can cut it to 3 stages (but with a longer journey time and possibly a higher fare), as follows:
Bus to Hunts Cross
Train to either Deansgate or Manchester Oxford Road (ask at Hunts Cross where best to change)
Train to Blackpool North

However, the best journey (which comes back to Dot's route via central Liverpool) is probably this one, which requires just 2 stages:
AirLink 500 bus to Liverpool Lime Street (every 20 or 30 minutes, 2.50)
Train to Blackpool North (hourly, about 13 - exact fare depends upon the time of travel).

Chris
PS: It's 60 miles by road, so a taxi would cost over 100.

Dot - I am constantly in your debt one way and another. Thankyou.
Chris - thankyou also. I didn't know about the Airbus but it looks the best way.
As for the taxi - forget it, Happy Christmas,
