Yes, I know you use Firefox.

From Firefox - bookmarks - organise bookmarks

File - import - import from file

That should restore your firefox bookmarks.
Question Author
went to fire fox
c on import
its shows microsoft int exp
from files
thanks
okay

start - search

All files and folders

And type in bookmarks.html

Can you find them?
The best way t replace them is find the bookmarkbackups folder whci daily makes a backup of your bookmarks

To see this you need to go in to folder options and check 'show hidden folders'

You can then cope the latest backup -paste it on your desktop - then import from file

Remember Firefox allows you to backup your bookmarks whenever you want just go to Organise bookmarks>file>export then you can save a copy to wherever you like - great to transfer to another PC you use
Go to your hard drive. Double-click each of these folders in turn:
Windows
Application Data
Mozilla
Firefox
Profiles
q7yu6ocg.default (The number may be different on your system but there will only be one possible folder).

Look for a file called 'bookmarks' and check its size. (That's the current bookmarks file which Firefox is currently loading).

Double-click on bookmarkbackups.
Look at the dated files in that folder. Unless you've recently deleted loads of bookmarks, the one with the biggest file size should be the one you want. (It should be be quite a bit bigger than your current file). Right-click on that folder and rename it to 'bookmarks'. Right-click again and select 'copy'.

Go up one level, to the folder which holds your current bookmarks file. Right-click on a blank space within that folder and select 'paste'. You'll be asked if you want to over-write the existing file. Select 'Yes'.

Launch Firefox and your old bookmarks should have reappeared.

when i clicked on the hard drives
i get this
view
arrange icons by
refresh
paste .paste shortcut in grey
props
thank u
What you describe is what you should see if you right-click on an empty space within a folder. If you're seeing it when you double-click (with the left mouse button) on the hard drive icon, there's something seriously wrong with Windows Explorer (which is the program which lets you view the contents of your system).

I seem to recall a similar problem when I tried to provide you with instructions for a previous problem. If Windows Explorer is malfunctioning you really need to re-install Windows, otherwise you'll never be able to use your computer properly.

Try again. Check that your mouse pointer is definitely over the hard drive icon (not simply alongside it). Then ensure that you're double-clicking the left mouse button. If you still see the display you've described, it's time to get a PC professional to reinstall Windows for you. (It's actually a very easy job but I hesitate to provide a technical novice with instructions for use on a PC with a faulty operating system).
