The US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are costing nearly double the amount previously thought, according to a report set to be released by Congress.

It has cost the average US family $20,000.

Would you care to speculate how $1.5 trillion could have been better spent?

$1.5 trillion is about ...
$250 for every man, woman and child on the planet.
$5,000 for every US citizen
$150,000 for every Iraqi citizen

and assuming they killed 15,000 "insurgents", that's about one hundred million dollars for each one!!

Wouldn't it have been cheaper to put out mafia contracts?

I think it's all been jolly valuable expenditure, and so do my employers, Halliburtons.
Shoes. Definitely shoes.
