the shops are a major nightmare and I'm going to do most of my gift shopping online this year. Do you think it takes the Christmas spirit out of Christmas?

for me, Christmas is spending time with family, not spending time getting frustrated going round shops!!
Hey Sandrajo,

I know that I am a cynic (for my sins) but what christmas spirit exactly?

I haven't been excited about Christmas for a couple of decades now lol xx
I am full of something when I get back from Chrimbo shopping ... but it is NOT Christmas spirit. I will be using the internet again this year!
hi sandra, i do a little bit of online shopping for xmas, such as books, CDs/DVDs and such. but for main presents i go into town, cos i like to see before i buy.
as for taking the spirit out of christmas! no it doesnt, but it does give you more to with family as you say, and also to
cook, clean and prepare your home, which is a big job in itself.
happy christmas xx
time,
well sandrajo im so computer literate my order probably wouldnt come until the year dot (that means never and my kids wouldnt be very happy) useless when it comes to computers although not long started going on my daughters. im sure though if somebody just went through it with me then i would pick it up.... but until then i"l stick to going to the shops with all the crowds. Ggggggggg lol
I do most of mine online, but I do still do a xmas shop for smaller things

Can anyone use that site Sasha?
Anything that takes the spirit out of Christmas is fine with me lol.

Because we all know Jesus wasn't born at Christmas so what exactly are we celebrating?

bah humbug
I usually buy most of the CD's & books online (Play.com give excellent service).

Shopping can be exhausting, but I'll still be trudging around for personal gifts & toys tho'. Having said that, it's much easier to reserve gifts online first, from say Argos, then pick them up at the store.

There's enough to do with preparing the house, etc., but fortunately for me, my husband does a lot of the food shopping, bless him.
I'm doing it half and half but seeing as most of the presents I'll be buying are for kids, then I want to have a good look at them in the shops. Part of me can't help but love that feeling of panic you get trawling round the shops trying to remember who you've forgotten to buy one for and that sense of hopelessness when you realise that everything you think would be perfect is actually quite rubbish :)
I just don't trust giving out my credit card details over the web.
I have heard too many horror stories, so tell me is it safe??
Besides, it is fun going round the shops and you can actually see what you're buying and get into the christmas spirit!!!
I've been involved in hundreds of online transactions and never had a problem

What about yr card being cloned right in front of you under the counter at a petrol station. Happened by me.
I have bought a lot of stuff online and never had any problems, keep your purchases to the big stores
They sure can sandrajo!
