What to put in the box !!

I have just received some boxes to fill with goodies for our troops in Afghanistan for Christmas and they haven't put a list in, has any one else sent one, if so what did you put in ?

A deck of cards. I can guarantee the ones they have will be marked by some devious gunner!!!!

...I am going to ask at the Legion tomorrow,infact I am going to demand that they organise boxes for the troops....

...massive bars of Cadburys are a �1 at Asda at the moment, and so are boxes of Oats So Simple....

Further, further. Be careful about sending ANY liquid or concealed items. With the lovely islamic terrorists in this country the boxes will need security clearance. This may render any wrapping fruitless as well.

havn't read everyone's suggestions, but when my nephew was in desert storm some years back we sent him loo rolls with miniature wiskey bottles stuffed into the tubes!!!!!!!!!!! oh and heinz sponge puddings and instant custard

Thanks for the interesting list Bewley Bros my husband is an Ex Marine and 60, so is now retired.I have no intension of being a mad stalker woman as you mention a case of mistaken identity a few months back by you me thinks !! I will certainly put in your suggestion of a deck of cards and hope the mad gunners don't nobble them, whoever they are. Good on you ermintrude and I shall be off to Asda for some bargains as I don't usually shop there. Hadn't thought of loo rolls Dot, perhaps minus the minatures due to the afore mentioned islamic terrorists.

i have jsut spoke to the royal marine association and they have informed me not to put any homemade cakes etc or bottles that have had the seal broken into the boxes as all boxes are screened for security purposes and any bixes with these items in will be destroyed
