Why does Stella and Kronenbourg have the reputation of 'wife beater' etc? Is it the fact that they are premium strength lagers or is it some chemical reaction within the beer that stimulates the part of your brain that makes violent people violent?

There are real ales that are much stronger than those lagers which dont have the same reputation. I agree with the ethos that its the person, not the drink.

Why drink an over-strong concoction like Stella (with accompanying side effects already mentioned) when you can enjoy a pint of decent real ale - which generally does no turn you into a brainless headstrong tw*t?

Stella makes me angry. I was charged �2.90 in a pub near Shrewsbury, Shropshire a few weeks ago. I said near Shrewsbury, so calm down Wetherspoons I don't mean you. Can anyone tell me the proper price or cheapest price for Stella, as it is my favourite beer?
