A combi doesnt have a "hot water tank" the type that fills the airing cupboard lol it has draws water direct from the mains and heats it through the boiler itself
Some combis have a small tank of hot water that is stored in the body of the combi and is drawn from 1st when hot water is required. the rest is heated by gas burners when it passes through the boiler
Remember those old Ascot water heaters that used to sit over the sink? Its a combination of one of those with a CH boiler.
So it heats the water as required.
its more energy efficient - but is noisy, and also i find the water sometimes can come out too hot....
