Hi , I have hardly slept all night, nor have the rest of the family.
My 2 month old kitten whom we adore, got himself in my tumble dryer last night and I accidently turned it on.
He was in there for about 1min, bless him. Luckily I realised pretty fast.
He was panting, floppy and probably very dizzy.
This was about 12 hours ago; now he is cautious but has eaten well and is playing with his toys.
He is not jumping up at us as per usual and seems cautious.
Do you think he will be in a lot of pain (he walks fine) or is it just a fear? Do you think he will soon be back to his usual self.
Please don't berate me, it was a horrid mistake.

Sunflower I am sure he will be fine especially if he is walking ok, has eaten and is playing. No wonder he is cautious, it probably scared the be jeesus out of him but he will get over it and soon forget. Don't feel too bad I have heard of this before, just be thankful you realised in time and keep the door closed in future but you already know that now.
Poor little thing and poor you as I am sure you are feeling a lot worse than the kitten! Unfortunately mistakes can happen and cats are so nosey but as warpig says he sounds as if he has come out of it okay. Just give him lots of cuddles to reassure him
My friend accidently tumble tried her cat for 10 minutes! He was fine, just like yours really - floppy and panting.
After 24 hours you wouldnt have known a thing - honestly dont worry.
They have 9 lives for a reason!!!!!
Dont be too hard on yourself.

Oh sunflower68 , you poor thing , what a nasty shock , both for you and your kitten. You must feel sick about it and understandably upset but please don't blame yourself for what was obviously an accident.
Little kitten is eating and playing so thats good. Note its walk is steady balance wise and that it isn't shaking its head. You are right , kitten will be cautious naturally.
Big hug . :-) x
aaah, why dont u pop him down the vets. You probably feel worse than he does, at least he knows not to do that again, and hey it could have been worse, it might have been the washing machine!
You took him to the vet, right?

If the vet can't find anything wrong, then you have no need to worry.

Accidents happen to all of us!
just for your own peace of mind I would pop him along to the vets. Dont judge yourself, we all have accidents, and you obviously wouldnt have done it on purpose. My son got himself in the tumble dryer when he was small, he pulled the door shut, and fortunately it was turned off at the mains, otherwise he would have been going round in it before I found out. At least now you will check all your appliances before turning on, or make sure you know where kitten is, to make sure it hasnt got anywhere it shouldnt!
