My beloved fantail goldfish George has been under the weather for the past week; he has been sunk at the bottom of the tank on his side. He started off floating at the top and has been struggling to stay up right after feeding now he has sunken to the bottom and is lifeless! His friend sharkey who he lives with is fine. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Could be swim bladder disease - we bought two comets who both did this within a week of getting them.

I called in to an aquarium shop and they sold me some live bloodworm for about 50p, it was a miracle cure.
Just to add, separate the healthy fish, as it will probably eat them all first.
i spoke to a friend who specalises in this field and as my fish (goldfish) werent expensive i took his advice, i cleaned their bowl and let it settle before i put the fish back in and added some sort of suplement from my local pet shop. this worked wonderfully and although it happened again a year or so later, my fish lived for years!
