from what i remember, you can freeze cream once it's been whipped, but not if it hasn't. i'm not sure why though. you used to be able to buy frozen cream in the supermarket too, don't know if you still can.

what do you want frozen cream for?
if you need availability at short notice you would be better buying a tin
War - I keep a pint of whipping cream in the freezer at all times - because I use it to make those really easy to make biscuits I make - you know the kind that are light and fluffy and great cut in half with a piece of ham or some bacon for breakfast. It has worked everytime I have used it.

Don't think they do tins of fresh cream, and evaporated, uht or condensed would not suit my purposes.

I forgot to say I don't whip it - just bring it home from the supermarket and pop it in the freezer.

My sister does the same thing with Half & Half for her morning coffee.

We both hate going to the supermarket:)

Thank you BBW, I knew I had read that somewhere, must have been in one of your previous posts!!!!! Should have just e-mail you with the question. Thanks of the link you sent, brilliant.

:-o)
War - the kind we have is in the cardboard with plastic coating - at least I think that is what it is composed of - it is the kind the little half pints of milk used to be in in the school cafeteria when we were in grammar school.

Well I have just bought cartons of whipping, double and single cream and bunged them in the freezer. I am having guests over to stay and was going to make poached pears in port and thought some fresh cream would be nice, as you know I don't drive and I hate supermarkets too, so thought it would be handy. If it doesn't work I will just serve it up like ice cream, they won't know the difference hopefully!
