ABEd - I realise you need days off ike the rest of us, can't someone "deputise" for you at weekends, when it seems the children all come out to play? Someone like QM or Andy Hughes would be ideal sane candidates, if nothing else they'd be able to delete the offensive and shift the wrongly posted Q's

paulz - ABEd suggested this some while back, though nothing's come of it so far.

Lod - I know it's been said sev times b4. Thought if we keep banging on at him, something might get done, one day.
What is the "raison d'tre" of Answerbank? Is it a profit-making enterprise? If so, surely it is us the users who are the customers. What happened to the adage "The customer is always right"? If you look through the replies posted since the introduction of the "Suggestions" category, there are possibly 10 or 15 really good and useful proposals, one of them being efficient 24/7 moderating of the site. We have given our feedback - come on AB Editor, we're waiting!
Before this category appeared I emailed the editor with this (along with a few other) suggestion and have had no response.

It would seem that we have merely swapped one set of editors who didn't/wouldn't/couldn't patrol the site properly for another who seem to have a different set of values not all in keeping with the wishes of the vocal part of the regular users.

I have so far only seen one response for the editor in this section....not much point having a suggestion box if it's going to be ignored is there? Is this here purely for show and tokenism or are any of the good ideas vouched by the users going to be acted upon?

Dear Paulz, It's kind of you to think of me as a potential 'Deputy Editor', but I wouldn't accept such a position were it offered...not even if paid!

There are too many questions on AnswerBank (eg see the 'Body & Soul' category) that I - in my old-fashioned way - consider utterly unsuitable for public discussion. Hardly anybody else, however, seems to think them outrageous. What with those and the 'cowboy quiz' type of queries, I'd be going through he entire site, scything furiously, like the Grim Reaper! Thanks...but no thanks.

QM - Thanks, sorry if I seemed to be offering either you or Andy a job without asking either of you first! What I was trying to say is that both of you are what I would call, balanced & normal individuals; and the post would call for someone of your calibre.
No need to apologise, Paulz. I know you were posting with the best of motives, so again my thanks for your comments.

As best I recall, Andy has been a moderator elsewhere, so he might well be interested. Good luck to him...or whoever. Cheers
