Did Neil Diamond sing 'Hooked On A Feeling'?

He may have done latterly but the song was originally written by Mark JAmes and was first a hit for B.J. Thomas of Raindrops keep falling on my head fame in January 1969 at number 5 in the US and was later covered by the band Blue Suede (the version used in Resevoir Dogs) and also by Vonda Shepard in Ally McBeal.

The only person to have a UK hit with it was Jonathan King who got to number 23 in 1971.

A brief google revals that Neil Diamond did do a cover of this but I think that it was only an album track.

Quite a few of the references I've found also list the writer of the words as Bjorn Skifs. Don't know how reliable this info is though.

The Blue Suede version is brilliant and I would recommend spending the �3 that the Reservoir Dogs CD costs these days just for that track alone

Did Johnatan King version of 71 have "hooga-chakka-ooka" background? I�m looking for such a version I heard in 1972 but it wasn�t bjt
