bond for rented house

i have moved out of a rented house today and the agent and landlord want me to hand the keys in so they can inspect the property, i want to be there as well but they say they can only do it during the day. i work all day and cant take time off.the house is clean & tidy just as it was when i moved in. what can i do if they withold the bond. i hav'nt signed any paperwork to say what was or was'nt in the property.

I am sorry to say that you just have hope, you we very silly not to get an inventory.
surely your boss will let you have a day off if you explain the reason, or you can take a days holiday? don't let them be there without you, you never know what they might get up to !! better to be safe than sorry.
If you rented your house through a letting agent, then I would contact ARLA (The Association of Residential Letting Agents) and ask them what your rights are conserning this. I have rented a couple of properties and would never let an inspection take place without myself or my husband being present. If there's a problem with the property at least this way they can show you what the problem is otherwise they could 'create' a problem and hold onto your bond money. I am sure an inspection could be arranged at a suitable time for you all.
