When i download some videos they won't play because a pop up box says one or more codecs may be missing. This happens mostly with avi files. any thoughts as to what and where these codecs can be found?
Constantly downloading codecs for different videos can be a real pain in the @rse. A much better idea is to use a decent media player which can play videos irrespective of the codecs used when creating them. The (free) video player which is most frequently recommended here on AB (as well as on BBC Radio 4, BBC World Service, and in PC magazines) is VLC: http://www.videolan.org/
Switch to VLC and you can forget all about codec problems.
