microsoft media player V11 on vista

I am running windows media player v 11 under VISTA. I cannot play videos that were recorded on my digital video player. It says an audio codec is missing I can play them on my other computer using XP....

I can play videos on my XP computer that were recorded on a digital video camera but cannot play them on VISTA laptop as it says an audio codec is missing. I am using version 11 of windows media...
