Two questions....just a random thought...does anyone know what is the shortest period of time between two births by the same person? (excluding twins)

Also, is it possible that someone can be pregnant and then conceive whilst pregnant...even if only hours after the first conception!?! (So in theory there could be two different fathers!)

There were two sisters at my school who were 8 and a bit months apart, but i think that the 2nd was a couple of months premature. My two are 13 months apart.

in your second question, I guess it would be possible, but the probability would be small as you would be relying on a women releasing two eggs rather than one, having sex two partners in a short space of time and having each egg fertilised by the sperm of each man - statistically unlikely, but unless someone with greater medical knowledge than me knows a reason why not, i think that it would be medically possible.
it is possible to get pregnant within 6 weeks of giving birth, therefore leaving a gap of approx 9-10 months betweens births.

and it is possible to be pregnant with 2 babies conceived by 2 fathers, though highly unlikely. as annie said, it would all depend on whether 2 eggs were released, and obviously the 'great race' to the eggs by two sets of sperm
