You can put your mum on as a named driver yes.

There are no limits to the amount of policies you can be on as far as i am aware.

I have my own car which i am the main driver of and my wife is a named driver. but we are both on hers as well only the other way around.

cheers

Sorry in my question i meant reduced by 400
it would even be cheaper if the policy was in her name and you were the named driver.

so she can be on her policy for her car and also be the policy holder on the insurance on my car. does that not mean if i crash she gets stung for it? thanks
In response to Norman's answer

Be very carefull when insuring under your parents name, it's what's known as 'fronted risk'. Many companies are now declining to cover this type of policy.

My company, UKI, no longer let young drivers insure in their parents name as the risk offered isn't propotionate to the premium recieved.

As per the original question....You can be a Policy Holder or a named driver on as many cars as you wish.

Thank you sifellis, Any chance of you telling me any companys that would allow me to do this as My mums got 5Years protected ncb and never had a driving conviction and it would save me some serious .

Thanks to all
I wouldn't normally say this but with Tesco, Churchill, Direct Line and Privilege they don't allow you to do fronted risk. I know this because i underwrite for them.

If however, you do the policy on the internet you would still be allowed the insurance as they wouldn't have been able to explain the 'frobted risk' to you. The only thing is they wouldn't let you renew unless it was in your own name. you can worry about that next year though.

Plus, Tesco & Direct Line are now allowing named driver to build up a no claims discount of their own so that would be my first port of call.

Hope this answers your query.
