Finding codecs for mp3's

Hi, I have downloaded some mp3's but windows media player will not play them because; 'One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found.' how do i go about finding which i need.

Firstly i would suggest using winamp

http://www.winamp.com/

by far and away the best music player available and regularly updated.

Without knowing which codec you're missing it's hard for me to link you straight to the file that you'll need but if you have a look around here you'll get there

Start with the AC3 codec as it's a quite a popular codec for people using the mp3 format when ripping CD's
