I pressume you mean a Tonne ???
If so is it not that a yard is a linear measurment , whereas a tonne is a weight measurment, so how can you convert the two different measurments ....

Only Jesting the answer is 50 litre's...!!!...
Loose soil weighs about 1500Kg per cubic metre, compacted about 2000Kg per cubic metre. A cubic yard is about 0.85 of a cubic metre.
So for loose soil the answer is about 0.8 cubic yds per tonne.
For the contents of a yard of ale holding 1.7 litres, there will be 588.25 in a metric tonne, or 578.9 in a UK long ton.

These figures have to be somewhat approximate, since the capacity of a yard of ale is not standard.
... and even if it were standard, after drinking it, who wants to do math?
Depends what the yard is. A yard of sand will weigh more than a yard of stones.
