Hi Kit i have a basset hound and he casts all the time and i bought a vax swift 1600 watt bagless 70 pounds from Argos i fined it dose the job the only thing is for best results you should get the dust and hair out of the filter ones a week i just put mine in a plastic bag and tap gently on the wall and the dust comes out in to bag then pick out what is left of the hair i know it sounds fiddly but i fined it to be a good vacuum cleaner i hope you get sorted out happy shopping love megan
Miele Cat and Dog. Fantastic.
megan you beat me too it lol, its a real good vacuum sucks up everything
Hi Elmek i fined it smashing it dose the job and you do not have to buy bags all the time love megan
definitely miele cat and dog,I have shepherds and it got the hair up no bother
currently have a dyson and they are usless.
i have rough collies who live in the house - and a dyson 'ball' animal vacuum which is great. But I brush dogs regularly and get out the dead hair which I think helps, better in the brush that on the carpet ! - a good tip for furniture and the stairs is a bowl of water, preferably with some zoflora in, put on a rubber glove, dip glove in bowl and rub on furniture, or carpet, and the hair gathers into a ball and leaves the upholstery smelling lovely.
This has been discussed time and again on several dog groups and the Miele has come out on top every time. I personally would not know though, as I have said before I try not to use the 'V' word.
I've got a vax similar to Megan07 best vacum cleaner i have ever had. Great for cat hair,
for me and i have a long haired german shepard you cant beat a dyson dear but fantastic you can get one which is specially built for this use but i just have the normal and it works a treat. good luck Paul
you really can't beat a dyson. we had a golden retriever and it was the only thing that brought off all the hairs from the carpet. the suction is so strong it lifts the carpet.
A kirby bloody expensive but good. Meili always comes out well in these questions though.

a big thankyou to:
winny, ethandron, mason, coco pops, lankeela, pmjblue, amonty, megan, elmek and abilicious and anyone i missed...really interesting...seems the "meili" came out the most prolific. my two dogs are rescue...max, who had his ribs broken by some young lad that he eventually turned round and bit and molly who had four homes by the age of 12 weeks..just because she wee`d and cried because she was taken away too young from her mother. arnt some people crazy? we`ve had max eight years now and molly four months..both are brilliant!
Hope you manage to get this! I have replied a little late,

we have a husky and she malts twice a year in huge clumps! We are currently using a Dyson with a pet hair filter! its brill. I had 5 hoovers before this!
